Arang and the Magistrate (Arang Satto Jeon) Review

Annyeonghaseyo and peace be upon yeorobundeul~~ I'm back with another drama which I never imagined to watch it. This drama is actually released back in 2012 with the concept of historical drama and frankly speaking, I'm not a fan of historical-typed of drama. However, this drama has opened my heart and eyes to watch another historical drama. Let me introduce a lil' bit of this drama. As you can see the title, the main characters in the drama were Arang or Lee Suh Rim (Shin Min Ah) and the Kim Satto or Kim Eun Oh (Lee Jun Gi) where their fate are being connected by the Jade Emperor (Yoo Seung Ho). Earlier, Arang who was a ghost has been revived into a human in order for her to find out the truth behind of her death. Meanwhile, Kim Eun Ho who can see ghosts met Arang in an old house on his way to Miryang to find his mother. Somehow, Arang knew that Satto can see her and made him as Satto in order for him to help her to find out who killed her. At first, Satto seem reluctant to help Arang, but his intention changed when he saw her mother's hairpin (Mo Shim Ja) on Arang's hair. He thought by helping Arang it will lead him to his mother and yes indeed. Therefore, they promised to help each other. Through lots of accidents and events, eventually, Satto fell in love with Arang and yes his character also was changed after he met with Arang from someone who was never concerned for others to someone who willing to help even when the ghosts approached him. Unfortunately, the biggest enemy of this drama was Satto's mother who was being possessed by Moo Yeong (Han Jung Soo)'s sister, Moo Yeon and actually the person responsible for Arang's death was Arang herself. However, since they already opened their heart to each other and stay together, Satto successfully made a deal with The Jade Emperor to let Arang live and not taking her memories by sacrificing himself to replace Arang but lucky enough, The Jade Emperor let both of them to live and stay together as human on the earth. So, at the end, they still live happily ever after. Other casts would be as below:
- Young Master, the one who killed the girls for Moo Yeon, killed Arang for the 2nd time (Yeon Woo Jin)
- Dol Sae, Satto's slave, and Bang Gool's Namchin - (Kwon Oh-Joong)
- Bang Ui Ri or Bang Gool, the shaman who at first couldn't see ghost but helped Satto and Arang a lot in a mystic way - (Hwang Bo Ra)
- Lord Choi, a person who was very annoying and trying to sack Arang and Satto and the whole Miryang - (Kim Yeon Geon)

In my opinion, maybe because I like to watch horror and scary kind of stories, so I really like this drama. Even they used a historical concept but the storyline was great. Historical only applicable to the culture, environment, language and costume but the storyline is the main dish for every drama. Another reason for me to watch this drama was, of course, the casts. I never know Lee Jun Gi is a playful type of actor at outside the scene. He is fun and outgoing type of guy and I admired him~~ As for Shin Min Ah, She is also one of my favorite actresses since Gumiho I guess. Overall, I really like the storyline of this drama.

Before I end up my synopsis and review, I got a chance to re-captured the monolog from Arang and Satto. Here we go~~
Arang's monolog:
Where a flower fell, another flower will bloom again and
where the wind blew, another wind will come too
But, I'm going to hold on that first feeling forever,
If I go to the heaven, I will forget about you and,
If I go to hell, you will forget about me,
So anywhere, we would not recognize each other but still....

Continued by Satto's monolog:
With these feelings, I'm going to find you,
If you see a guy on a street who stops suddenly while brushing by,
When he sees you, when the tears well up, when the heart beats again then,
Please recognize it's me... Arang, Saranghanda~~~

See you guys in another drama. Until then, geonganghaseyo and haengbokhaeyo~~ annyeong ^_*

Twenty Again (Du Beonjjae Sumusal) Review

Peace be upon and annyeonghaseyo yeorobundeul~~~ I just finished watching this beautiful drama about how to live well at your 20's. First, let me introduce the casts for this drama:

~ Choi Ji Woo as Ha No Ra
~ Lee Sang Yoon as Cha Hyun Suk
~ Choi Won Young as Kim Woo Chul/ Husband of Ha No Ra
~ Kim Min Jae as Kim Min Soo/ Ha No Ra and Kim Woo Chul son
~ Son Na Eun (APink) as Oh Hye Mi
~ Jung Soo Young as Ra Yoon Young/ Ha No Ra Bestfriend
~ Choi Yoon So as Shin Sang Ye/ Cha Hyun Suk Assistant
~ Park Hyo Joo as Kim Yi Jin/Kim Woo Chul

Next I will share what this drama about and after that as usual my review. This drama is about a girl named Ha No Ra who dreamt as a dancer during her elementary school had to let go off her dream and her teenager's life when she was pregnant and got married to a guy named Kim Woo Chul. At that time, Kim Woo Chul has to go to Germany to continue his study in Psychology and so he brought Ha No Ra together. Before that, No Ra was a cheerful, diligent and talented person, she has a grandmother and the have a tteokbokki small restaurant. This drama slowly revealed the memories of No Ra before she got married. Moreover, she has a good friend named Yoon Young, Dong Chul and Hyun Suk. The conflicts began after 20 years when his husband decided to divorce her due to unable to communicate well with her. But actually that was only excuses for him to cheated on her and secretly dating Kim Yi Jin. Their marriage life had totally change her character from someone who cheerful to someone who talk slow, always keep her feelings inside and always look sad. Beside that, she's getting more emotional when she was falsely diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and she has been told to have only 6 months left. Therefore, she got scared when she has to divorce with her husband and separate with her son. So she plans to have a wishlist before she die and she was planning to tell her son after 3 months. One of her wishes is to study in the college and got in into Woo Cheon University. Unfortunately, she has to be in a same uni with her son and husband and at that time, she finally met Hyun Suk after 20 years. It seems that Hyun Suk was so angrily mad at her because she left Korea without saying anything to him, and leaving her gandmother behind alone. Even when her grandma died, she didn't come and pay a last respect. But actually the reason behind why she didn't come was more sad. However, slowly Hyun Suk and No Ra's character change back to what they used to be when they were together and accomplished No Ra's bucket list. No Ra also slowly change herself when she finally realized what she used to be and how she was once loved before. No Ra's faced lots of hardships when she started her study especially when she has been outcasted by her classmates. But finally good days slowly approached her when she did lots of good deeds to her friends and they finally realized that too. At last, before No Ra agreed to divorce with her husband, he received whatever he deserves to, such as two nice slaps from No Ra for the reason of lying her about the ticket to go back to korea. Finally, No Ra and Hyun Suk start their relationship for a good after getting into too many scenes and conflicts. That is the ending and simple summary of this drama.
I always like to give review for each of the drama I watched in order to encourage the viewers to go and experience this drama by themselves. So for this drama, I seriously recommend to go and watch because I feel that this drama have taught us about life a lots. As we know that, 20 years old is a peak age of our life where we are in the category of TEENAGER. It is truly wasted if we didn't spend well like what happened to Ha No Ra's life. One reason for me to watch this drama at a first place is because of Choi Ji Woo. I'm always her biggest fan eversince Winter Sonata, Stairway in Heaven, Strange Housekeeper and more. Besides that, I like Lee Sang Yoon for his dimples, charms and of course his acting itself eversince Take Care of Us Captain and Angel Eyes. But what made me fell in love with this drama is the storyline. It will be very pathetic if someone has never spent their teenager's life properly leaving behind none of the memories to be brought to the future. This drama has made me think about whether I have lived well when I was 20 years old because I also was a dancer during the olden days. So as a conclusion, this drama is worth to watch, even worth to smile and shed tears together with Ha No Ra, laughed with Hyun Suk and got angry with Kim Woo Chul. I guess that is all for now. I will be back with another drama next time. Until then, take care and annyeonghaseyo~~~
